Mark Reed Joins Board

FOR RELEASE: 10/14/20

Mark Reed Joins Tybee Island Marine Science Center Foundation’s Board of Trustees

(Tybee Island, GA) Mark Reed has joined the Tybee Island Marine Science Center Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “We are delighted Mark agreed to join our board and is already putting his considerable skills as an engineer and as a marketer to good use as we enter the final stage of our capital campaign in raising funds for exhibits in our new Center. We call Mark our Water Works Coordinator since he stepped right in and designed the entire water system for our new Center saving us a bundle of money. We are grateful he decided to lend us a hand…an arm, a leg and his brain!” laughed Cathy J. Sakas, President, Board of Trustees.

Mark has been active in the Tybee Island community from day one. Reed serves on the City of Tybee’s Ethics Commission and on the Tybee YMCA’s board of directors. He also volunteers as a lifeguard. Reed moved to Tybee Island after retiring as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Power Generation Americas at ABB Inc. He’s been active in the community ever since. He earned his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. For more information and to register, please go to TybeeMarineScience.org.
