Volunteer Requirements for All Positions:

It’s a good time. You’ll learn a lot. Become a part of promoting responsible stewardship of coastal Georgia’s marine ecosystem.

Program Assistant: Assist marine science educators in delivering programs to children and adult groups in the classroom, on the beach, and in the marsh.
Gallery Interpreter: Engage scouts, school groups, and island visitors in our Coastal Georgia Gallery by interpreting the Touch Tank and exhibits.
Outreach Liaison: Represent the center at community outreach events and teach the public with traveling displays on sea turtles, whales, sharks, and jellies.
Animal Caretaker: Prepare diets, feed animals, clean algae, and collect specimens for the Coastal Georgia Gallery’s exhibits.
Rescue Transporter: Help injured birds and reptiles by collecting the animals, assisting in triage, and transporting to the center or a local veterinarian.
Cashier-Greeter: Greet island visitors as they enter the Discovery Shop, run the register, and schedule island visitor programs.
