Calling All Cooks!


The Tybee Island Marine Science Center is planning to publish a cookbook in the near future.  This cookbook will be rather unique in that it will feature seafood recipes along with beautiful illustrations and the natural history of the fish, crabs, shrimp, oysters, mussels, and clams featured in each dish.  The cookbook will also include appetizers, salads, side dishes, and desserts that will complement the seafood entrées.
 
Please support this fund-raiser by submitting your favorite recipes.  Below you will find the information needed to complete your entry.  You can request this form already in a Microsoft Word document from TIMSC at the email address listed below.
 

Directions for Submitting your Recipe

Using the following format, please type and submit your favorite seafood recipes as well as appetizers, salads, side dishes, or desserts that will compliment seafood entrees. Recipes should include all information listed below, typed in a Word document, attached to an email, and sent to info@tybeemsc.org

1. Category: Appetizer     Soup/stew/chowder      Salad        Side Dish       Entrée        Dessert

4. Ingredients:  Please list ingredients in the order of use in the directions.  

Include container sizes (e.g. 16 oz. pkg., 24-oz. can). 

Use abbreviations: pt.  qt.  pkg.  c.  tsp.  T.  oz.  lb.  gal.  doz.  sm.  med.  lg.

 

5. Directions:  Directions should be written in paragraph form – not in steps.  Use the names of the ingredients in the directions. (e.g., “Combine flour and sugar.”  Do not use statements like, “Combine the first three ingredients.”)  Include temperatures and cooking, chilling, baking, and/or freezing times.

Note:  All submissions become the property of the Tybee Island Marine Science Foundation.  The foundation reserves the right to select recipes based on space considerations.
