Angela Ripa, Marine Educator/Sea Camp Coordinator

Angela is a transplant from Rhode Island.  After many long winters she migrated south to the Florida Keys to teach marine science at Seacamp, Inc. After a year of snorkeling the reefs and mangrove she moved north to Jekyll Island, teaching Barrier Island Ecology and marine science at Jekyll Island 4-H Center.  Just a little further north she landed on beautiful Edisto Island, SC for a summer of loggerhead sea turtle patrolling and public education.  She then migrated to Seabrook Island, SC as a naturalist.  Angela graduated in 2001 from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science.  She is thrilled to be back on the Georgia coast at TIMSC as a Marine Educator.  In addition to teaching school group, scout and public programs she coordinates Sea Camp Volunteer Staff and writes Sea Camp curriculum for 2007.  Additionally, she is the education point person for the Sea Turtle Project.

Sarah Barlow is a Marine Educator and facilitates all of our Public Programs, including our fantastic TIDE (Tybee Island Discovery Experiences) programs, birthday parties, and many more community events! Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She has been a field technician for federal and several state agencies conducting songbird surveys, small mammal trapping, herptile surveys, and vegetation analysis. Sarah has been migrating to the southeast, working as the Outreach Coordinator for the Gopher Tortoise Conservation Initiative in central Florida and as a public education intern with the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield, GA. She then began graduate school at Louisiana State University and earned a Master of Science degree in Wildlife/Wetland Ecology.
